As the world’s first truly urban commercial spaceport, the Houston Spaceport offers unmatched business opportunities for aviation and aerospace companies of any size. The Spaceport is located on the southeast side of Ellington Airport (EFD), a mixed-use and general aviation airport with virtually limitless potential for expansion and development.
The Houston Spaceport exists to give you the tools, space, facilities and infrastructure you need to operate and grow your commercial aerospace business. As a launch and landing site for suborbital, reusable launch vehicles as well as a center for innovation, the Spaceport offers a number of attractive leasing opportunities. Build your facility on parcels of any acreage or move into existing laboratory and office space today.
Tenants may build on partial, single or multiacre lots to suit your particular business needs.
The Houston Aerospace Support Center (HASC) offers 53,000 square feet of fully customizable laboratory and office space in any configuration you require.

Manufacturing and research can be demanding enough without the threat of outside contamination. That’s why the HASC has two lab-certified clean rooms to help you perform crucial tasks in the controlled environments you require. Because these are the same clean rooms used to support International Space Station missions, you know they’ve got an aerospace pedigree you can trust.
Two separate heavy-lift crane configurations in the HASC allow for processing massive cargo just steps from Runway 4/22. A pair of 5-ton hook bridge cranes (10 tons total lift capacity) meet the lifting demands and space requirements for virtually any spaceflight-related task. An additional 3-ton single-hook crane facilitates additional lift work on the shop floor.
The 36,000 square foot high bay offers access to all laboratories as well as fabrication/machine shops and clean rooms to ensure seamless workflow for the lifecycle of any project.
The HASC contains 17,000 square feet of fully configurable office space with adjoining laboratories and workspaces. The HASC is located on Space Center Boulevard and is immediately adjacent to NASA’s Neutral Buoyancy Lab.
Tenants of the Houston Spaceport have two world-class runways at their disposal. Because NASA, all five branches of the military and general aviation use the Spaceport, you can be sure it can support virtually any horizontal take-off aircraft or spacecraft.
Since the City of Houston owns and operates EFD, acquiring building and zoning permits is quick and easy.
|Permit||Approval Authority||Average Approval Time||Fee|
|Building||City of Houston||11 days||N/A|
|Zoning||City of Houston||11 days||N/A|
Becoming a tenant of the Houston Spaceport means more than simply finding a place to locate your business. You’ll have access to some of the smartest organizations on earth, partnering with NASA, universities and aerospace companies, and sharing ideas with other tenants. Couple that with local, state and federal support, and a team of some of the most skilled professionals in the aerospace and aviation industries, and you’ve got more than an office -- you’ve got a space to call home.
