New Airport Parking System Gives Travelers More Flexibility

Travelers have more control in managing online reservations which helps to reduce touchpoints at parking facilities

September 21, 2020

Houston, (Sept. 21, 2020) – The touchless travel experience can now start before arriving at George Bush Intercontinental (IAH) or William P. Hobby (HOU) airports with the addition of a new and more flexible online parking reservation system, powered by GOairport. Travelers now have the power to pre-book, adjust, cancel and request a refund for a(n) Ecopark, terminal garage and valet reservation made on fly2houston.com.

“Houston Airports has made it a priority to implement and activate touchless systems throughout the airport experience to help reduce the spread of COVID-19," Houston Airports Commercial Development Parking Director Walt Gray said. “GOairport not only gives passengers a fast and stress-free way of making a parking reservation, it also allows the touchless airport experience to happen even before you reach our parking facilities.”

Pre-booking at fly2houston.com may also come with additional benefits. Parking discounts, for reservations made online, may be given to help ease the cost of parking.

“We’ve noticed that our airline partners have become more flexible with customers’ reservations, and this is our way of keeping the experience consistent,” Gray said. “Travelers want to know they can travel with ease and manage their bookings quickly. Our new system gives them the power they demand. Convenience, flexibly, savings and safety is a win-win.”

Previously, travelers who made online parking reservations and wanted to adjust or cancel their pre-bookings were required to call a parking representative or cancel in person.

”As Houston Airport System’s long-term parking and transportation partner, SP+ is pleased to further our relationship with MAG at these two important hub airports. The combination of SP+’s operational and technical expertise, coupled with MAG’s reservation platforms, will greatly enhance our overall product offerings and the customer experience at IAH and HOU,” SP+ Division President Jack Ricchiuto said.
