Houston Airports maintains 5-Star rating at Hobby Airport, 4-Star rating at Bush Airport in 2023

William P. Hobby Airport maintains its 5-Star Skytrax rating for a second straight year. For six consecutive years, George Bush Intercontinental Airport maintains its 4-Star Skytrax rating. This is also the second straight year Hobby Airport has won Best Regional Airport at the Skytrax World Airport Awards.

HOUSTON – Houston Airports is maintaining its 5-Star Skytrax rating at William P. Hobby Airport, HOU and 4-Star rating at George Bush Intercontinental Airport, IAH in 2023. The announcement came during the 2023 Skytrax World Airport Awards in Amsterdam, Netherlands on Wednesday, March 15. The ratings are the result of an annual audit conducted by Skytrax at each airport in January 2023. 

Skytrax is a premier international air transport rating organization that classifies airlines and airports by the quality of product and staff service standards.  

Hobby Airport became the first and only 5-Star Skytrax airport in North America in 2022. Hobby Airport retains that status in 2023. Hobby Airport is among 18 airports in the world with a 5-Star Skytrax rating. Bush Airport maintains its 4-Star Skytrax rating for a sixth consecutive year.  

“These Skytrax honors confirm the dedication to detail and commitment to customer service prioritized by Houston Airports,” said Sylvester Turner, Mayor of Houston. “Houston truly is a global city where our guests are valued and celebrated. Another year of 5-Star and 4-Star ratings is proof that the investments we continue to make in our Houston Airports arts program, airport infrastructure and technology and team members are smart and successful investments that lead to a world-class and award-winning passenger experience.”  

Houston Airports also became the first airport system in the world to win Best Art in the Airport. The new category was unveiled during the 2023 Skytrax World Airport Awards. The prestigious accolade is chosen by a Skytrax judging panel.

Hobby Airport was voted as the Best Regional Airport in North America for the second year in a row. Hobby Airport is ranked third Best Airport in North America in 2023. Bush Airport is ranked fourth Best Airport in North America in 2023. Hobby Airport is ranked second Best Airport in the U.S. in 2023 and Bush Airport is ranked third Best Airport in the U.S. in 2023. These categories of the 2023 World Airport Awards were voted on by passengers through the largest annual global customer satisfaction survey. According to Skytrax, airport customers were surveyed between August 2022 and February 2023. Airports do not pay to be included in the survey.
