Steve Runge provides the vision, strategy, and direction supporting the daily operations of at George Bush Intercontinental and William P. Hobby Airport including:
- Airside Operations
- Landside Operations
- Safety Management Systems (SMS)
- Security and Badging
- Emergency Management
- Airport Operations Centers
Runge began his career nearly three decades ago with Continental Airlines working in various operational, safety, and regulatory compliance positions at Kansas City International Airport, Newark Liberty International Airport and George Bush Intercontinental Airport. He joined Houston Airports in 2002 as an Airport Operations Specialist and held a variety of progressively responsible positions at Ellington Airport (EFD), William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) and George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH). He is one of a few Houston Airports employees who has held positions at all three HAS airports.
Runge holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Aviation Business Administration from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and a Master of Science degree in Aviation Safety from the University of Central Missouri. He is an Accredited Airport Executive (A.A.E.) with the American Association of Airport Executives and holds Private Pilot and Remote Pilot Certificates with the Federal Aviation Administration.
