Inside the always-bustling George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), Susan Barrow stands out not just as a Houston Airports Volunteer Ambassador but as a beacon of warmth and assistance to passengers arriving in Houston over the last 14 years.

As a Houston Airports Volunteer Ambassador, Barrow not only navigates passengers through terminals but also serves as a mentor to her fellow volunteers, creating connections that go beyond flight schedules.

“As a 6th generation Texan and a 3rd generation Houstonian I love welcoming people to our city,” said Susan Barrow, Volunteer Ambassador for Houston Airports. “I hope that everyone will love Houston like I do. It gives me pleasure to suggest things to see, places to go and activities to excite everyone. Helping people navigate our beautiful IAH thrills me and gives me pleasure. I feel at home at IAH.”

What sets the Houston Airports Volunteer Ambassador Program apart is not just the service it provides but the friendships it forges. For Barrow, being an Ambassador is not just a role – it's an opportunity to meet incredible individuals who become lifelong friends. "The program has allowed me to serve my community, introducing me to amazing people who have become family," said Barrow.

"Susan Barrow embodies the spirit of our Volunteer Ambassador Program. Her dedication and mentoring role showcase the program's ability to not only assist passengers but also create a supportive and collaborative environment for our volunteers,” said Ella Ghica, Volunteer Outreach Initiatives Manager for Houston Airports.

Susan Barrow is a living testament to what it means to be a Houston Airports Volunteer Ambassador. Her unwavering dedication, mentoring spirit and the friendships she has cultivated make her a shining example within the program, which is active at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) and William P. Hobby Airport (HOU).
