Wide-ranging discussions covered a variety of relevant topics in the transportation space
The Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO) Texas Statewide Transportation Multimodal Forum was held on April 6, 2022, in four Texas cities, including Houston. Houston Airports Chief Development Officer Jarrett Simmons participated in a wide-ranging discussion with a Houston Airports presentation that discussed the many regional investments currently being made in the world of aviation.
Simmons also addressed how collectively working together can drive equitable investments broadly in transportation across the region while simultaneously creating business opportunities to increase the participation and support capacity-building of minority and women-owned business enterprises.
He discussed the Domestic Redevelopment Programs at George Bush Intercontinental Airport and William P. Hobby Airport, the Skyway Replacement Project at Bush Airport, and more to very attention reception of the audience.
COMTO is the nation’s only multi-modal advocacy organization and membership association for minority professionals and businesses in the transportation industry.
More than 20 municipalities and transportation agencies from across the state discussed business opportunities coming in 2022 and beyond. Alongside Houston, the event forums were held in San Antonio, Austin, and Dallas.
Additional participating agencies included San Antonio International Airport, Austin Bergstrom International Airport, Dallas Love Field Airport, DFW International Airport, and many others.
Houston Airports was represented by Simmons, Justina Mann, David Robins and Rhonda Arnold.
