Houston Airports is offering passengers more opportunities to visit Mexico. Starting in December, Viva Aerobus will offer new international service from George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) to Querétaro, Mexico. The flights will be offered four times a week. Viva is also preparing to increase the number of flights from Houston to popular Mexican destinations like León, Guadalajara, Mexico City and Monterrey. These additional flights will begin in December:

• IAH-León/Bajío will increase from 4 flights per week to 5 flights per week.
• IAH-Guadalajara will increase from 4 flights per week to daily service.
• IAH-Mexico City will increase from 6 flights per week to daily service.
• IAH-Monterrey is increasing from 13 flights per week to 19 flights per week.

Houston continues to cultivate a strong connection with Mexico. During the inaugural Houston Travel Fest, Houston Airports spotlighted the 22 Mexican destinations serviced by six airlines. The travel, culture, food and networking event was open to the public and featured travel experts from Mexico and the United States. 

Bush Airport is the only U.S. airport that has a direct flight from Mexico City's new airport, Felipe Angeles International Airport.

Houston Airports has grown passenger traffic to Mexico by almost 50% to 4.6 million passengers since 2010.

We are helping families, friends and business travelers plan their next vacation while flying in or out of our award-winning airports.” 

Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner welcomed Mexico’s Minister of Tourism to the multi-day event which was held at the George R. Brown Convention Center. Notable participants included Houston First, Houston Sports Authority, Houston Hospitality Alliance, Texas Travel Alliance, Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, The Woodlands chapter of the U.S.-Mexico Chamber of Commerce and CONCANACO Mexico.
