Lishia Scranton has never met a stranger and that “Houston Friendly” trait has shown during her employment with Allen's Landing at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH).
The following letter was submitted from the Patterson Family:
“For years now, my father always bragged about the lady that works at the store (Allen's Landing) in Terminal B. No matter what terminal (his flight originates/departs from), Terminal B would be his next stop just to see her. For a while, my sister and I started to believe that she did not exist because of the way my father talked about her.
But we recently traveled with him and had the pleasure of finally meeting Ms. Lishia (Scranton). She greeted us and already had the items he usually gets ready for him to purchase. I can honestly say, she was exactly the way my father described but much more. Her upbeat attitude is a great way to start off a long morning of travel. Observing her interactions with the other customers and employees was breathtaking. My sister and I wanted to personally thank her because our father has not really been the same since our mother died. But her small act of kindness gives him something to look forward to every week.
She wouldn’t take a tip and she did encourage us to purchase an item for the military instead, but we felt like that wasn’t enough. It truly warms our heart to know that people like Ms. Lishia still exist. She will never understand how much of a blessing she has become to our father and for that we are forever grateful.
Lishia is the greatest example of a person going above and beyond the means of their job. We really hope this letter reaches her and shines a light on her brighter than the one she already has….thank you again Ms. Lishia. From the Patterson family.”
Lishia Scranton truly exemplifies Houston Friendly.
