Houston Airports is anticipating a surge in travel this Independence Day holiday weekend. 1.9 million passengers are expected to fly through George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) and William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) between Saturday, June 29, and Monday, July 8. This represents an 8% increase in passenger volume compared to the same period in 2023 and an 11% increase compared to the same time in 2019.
Of the 1.9 million travelers, 1.5 million are expected to board domestic flights, while approximately 443,000 passengers are destined for international cities. Houston boasts a robust network of direct flights to 193 destinations, offering travelers a variety of incredible summer destinations to explore.
