Houston Airports welcomed more than 400 contractors to its Industry Day on March 25. The Industry Day highlighted upcoming projects for the airport system, detailing history, scopes, timelines, and MWBE requirements along with giving subcontractors an opportunity to meet with prime contractors and other key stakeholders.

There are many business opportunities within Houston Airports, including construction, facility maintenance, professional services, airport concessions, advertising and car rentals. These opportunities are awarded to companies through Requests for Qualifications (RFQs), Requests for Proposal (RFPs), or a competitive bid process.

The Industry Day event also serves as a face-to-face networking opportunity for companies to learn about the process of doing business with Houston Airports.

“We were extremely pleased with the interest and the turnout for this event,” said Jarrett Simmons, Houston Airports Infrastructure Director and Chief Development Officer. “The attendance was optimal, both in-person and online, they were engaged, and they are now better-equipped to know how to respond. We will continue to reach out, to supply them with the latest information, and to build relationships with potential, qualified partners.”

Presenters included Simmons, Scott B. Hill, Justina Mann, David Robbins, and Nicole Owens.

Among the many upcoming projects presented were:

  • IAH Central Utilities Plant – Renovation and Upgrades
