When life happens and passengers need convenient and fast dining and retail options, a good vending machine can make all the difference. Over the last year, Houston Airports has plugged in the possibilities of 24/7 vending options like Build-A-Bear, Sprinkles Cupcakes and Kylie Cosmetics.
During the latest World Series run by the Houston Astros, a 47 Brand hats vending machine couldn’t keep the baseball team’s caps in stock. During the holidays, vending machines throughout airport terminals allowed travelers to get their hands on last-minute gifts like LEGO kits, Apple or Beats products or luxury socks sold by Stance.
The next generation of vending machines offers more than snacks and soda. They offer fresh, healthy options like wraps, veggies, fruit and hummus that are readily available through Byte coolers.
When Elizabeth Tribo was visiting George Bush Intercontinental Airport in December, she took to airport comment card and rated Bush Airport ‘excellent’ because of next-gen vending option: Parents-on-the-Go.
“We do appreciate the parents on the go vending machines! Thank you so much,” wrote Tribo. “You’re killing it and these rock, hope to see more in the future!”
Parents-on-the-Go sells everything from baby food to diapers and onesies to pacifiers. What makes the 24/7 vending option even more functional is its location. The vending machines are located near bathrooms and Mother’s Rooms. Parents on the go can quickly purchase what they need and then immediately put it to use.
A trio of Illy coffee vending machines are the latest addition to nearly two dozen new vending options for passengers at Bush and Hobby airports. The coffee machines can whip up cappuccinos, lattes and espresso in sustainable and travel-safe packaging.
