CLEAR, the leading biometric identity service, recently opened at both George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) and William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) and promises to speed customers through airport security in less than five minutes on average.

Certified by the Department of Homeland Security as Qualified Anti-Terrorism Technology, CLEAR transforms the travel experience by allowing members to use their biometrics — fingerprint or iris — to identify themselves. They are then directed to a CLEARlane, an exclusive and dedicated path to TSA screening, helping them securely speed through processing. 

“George Bush Intercontinental Airport and William P. Hobby Airport serve more than 50 million passengers on an annual basis and that number is expected to grow even larger once international flight service is expanded to Hobby Airport,” says Lance Lyttle, Chief Operating Officer for the Houston Airport System. “With this volume, it’s important that we expedite the travel experience wherever possible and CLEAR represents yet another option for our passengers.” 

Houston passengers are already taking advantage of the benefits. Terrie Tiemann flies from Denver to Houston a few times a year and frequently travels for business. She says, “CLEAR has saved me a few times from missing a flight. I love the program.” 

CLEAR membership is only $179 a year for unlimited use. Members can add their spouse or partner for an additional $50, and children under 18 are free.

Terminal A: Monday through Sunday from 4:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. 
Terminal B: Monday through Sunday from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. 
Terminal C: Monday through Sunday from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. 
Terminal D: Monday through Sunday from noon to 8 p.m.
