Houston Friendly Spotlight
January 6, 2017

Customer Service is a top priority at Houston Airports. The Houston Airports Houston Friendly initiative recognizes employees who have showcased excellence in Customer Service.  Each month, we will spotlight an employee who exhibited our Service Core Value, which reads, " We WOW our passengers through a 'can do' attitude and respond quickly to meet and exceed their expectations. We find ways to bring fun and joy into our work and bring our passengers along for the ride."

Cahl Rasmussen: Houston Airports Operations Coordinator

While assisting a passenger, another passenger came up to Cahl Rasmussen, Houston Airports Operations Coordinator, in a panic. His passport was missing! The passenger had a connection at George Bush Intercontinental Airport from another international destination and was traveling to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.

Rasmussen advised the passenger that he would go to the Federal Inspection Area to see if the passport had been turned in. Rasmussen walked the Customs area with no luck. At the same time Rasmussen was inquiring with the commanding officer if a U.S. passport had been turned in, an immigrations officer walked up to them with passport in hand and asked if this was the passport he was inquiring about. Rasmussen quickly turned to the photo page and confirmed it was the same passenger, he took off for the gate that the he had last seen the passenger. He found the passenger and they confirmed it was his passport.

The passenger was grateful because he would not have been able to leave the country without it.

Director of Airport Initiatives and Volunteer Services Director Caroline Schneider manages the Houston Friendly program and was on-hand to present Rasmussen with a certificate of recognition.

Houston Airports salutes Cahl Rasmussen for his Houston Friendly attitude.
